West Ham United have submitted a serious proposal in a bid to sign free agent GrazianoPelleto provide cover for the East London club in attack following the departure of Sebastien Haller. French-born Ivorian international striker Sebastien Haller has signed a four-and-a-half year deal at Ajax Amsterdam until the end of the 2024/25 season. Ajax Amsterdam paid €22.5m to make Haller the most expensive signing in the history of the Dutch Eredivisie. He leaves the Hammers after 18 months following his €50m signing from Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.

Sebastien Haller already made his debut for Ajax Amsterdam in the 2-2 draw at home to title rivals PSV Eindhoven in a Dutch Eredivisie clash.

West Ham are interested in Italian international GrazianoPelle who's in the twilight of his career at the age of 35. Pelle is no stranger to Premier League football having previously played in the competition in the colours of Southampton. The interest of the Hammers in the ageing GrazianoPelle was revealed by FCInterNews as it was revealed that West Ham United have lodged a serious proposal in a bid to sign the free agent and that talks are at an advanced stage. The Hammers tried and failed to sign the player while SlavenBilic was the manager in 2016. 6ft 4 striker Pelle has not played Premier League football since leaving Southampton for the Chinese Super League in 2016. He has been likened to Robin Van Persie who played for the Hammers' London rivals Arsenal and Manchester United in the Premier League. Robin Van Persie was an Arsenal player for eight years before making the controversial move to rivals Manchester United when he had one year left on his contract with the Gunners. According to Robin Van Persie, the move to Manchester United in 2012 was motivated by his desire to win the trophies. Robin Van Persie won the Premier League title in his first season as a Manchester United player.
