Steven Bergwijn waiting on potential move to Bayern Munich

PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn is understood to be eyeing a potential move to Bayern Munich this summer, his agent has revealed. The 21-year-old had a fantastic 2018/19 season with PSV where he contributed 14 goals and 12 assists in the Eredivisie, but that was not sufficient to hand his team with the title, considering the dominant season from Ajax.

Since then, he has been regularly linked with a move to Bayern with the club said to hold an interest in signing him and agent Fulco van Kooperen has acknowledged that the attacker is prepared to remain patient over the same, he told ESPN: “We have never, never said we are losing patience. Bayern are a great and huge club and it's great they like Steven. They can take all the time they need."

Aside from Bayern, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Paris Saint-Germain have been among the high-profile clubs linked with the Dutchman’s services.Towards the end of the interview, Van Kooperen warned the German champions that the youngster may eventually consider offers from other elite teams, he continued: "On the other side, it's not a secret there are more clubs which like him."

Netherlands are on the up after a frustrating period where they missed out on qualifying for the 2016 European Championship as well as the 2018 World Cup. During this transition, a number of young players have made the step to the national team and that includes Bergwijn, who has become a regular choice under manager Ronald Koeman.

Still, there is plenty to improve for the Dutch in terms of the consistency after recently losing out to Portugal for the Nations League trophy. Meanwhile, Bergwijn could become the next high-profile departure from PSV this summer, considering they have already sanctioned the sales of Angelino, Aziz Behich and captain Luuk de Jong.
