Louis Saha backs Alexis Sanchez to emulate ex-Manchester United striker

Former Manchester United star Louis Saha has hailed the arrival of Chilean attacker Alexis Sanchez at Old Trafford, and believes he can make a similar impact to former Red Devil Robin van Persie, who also signed from Premier League rivals Arsenal.

In a report covered by The Star, Saha praised the abilities of the Chile international whilst comparing him with Van Persie, he said: "His speed, he has no fear. It’s impossible to mark those kind of players. He can play right, left, in the middle, play behind defenders… it’s unplayable. When these players get players around them as well with desire to win titles. He can do amazing things at United. If you remember Van Persie, who also came from Arsenal, destroyed the Premier League by himself in the first season. He killed it, we hope Sanchez will do the same."

It is probably too soon to assume the potential impact of Sanchez, but he has started his United career in a fairly good fashion with one goal and two assists in the space of five matches. The 29-year-old has found himself given the ball away all too often in this period, but he has more than made it up with his ability to find killer balls for his fellow forwards.
The ex-Barcelona man is expected to play a role for United in their Premier League campaign, but he could also make a significant impression in the FA Cup and Champions League as the club look to salvage their season with some kind of silverware.
The Cup competitions are often seen as the best possible way to claim a trophy, and United will fancy their chances of making it to Wembley at the least with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City having dropped out of the FA Cup prior to the quarter-final stage.
