To this effect, Robin Van Persie used his official Twitter handle to send his best wishes after Van Bronckhorst replaced Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard as the new Rangers manager.

Van Bronckhorst, 46, was officially unveiled as the Rangers manager and he has made a great start to his managerial career at Ibrox. The retired Dutch national team star is the 17th permanent manager at Rangers and he has some work to do to emulate the 16th permanent manager, Steven Gerrard.
